Quetta Mine tragedy has drawn condolences from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after a deadly coal mine accident in the Soranj area near Quetta claimed the lives of several workers.

President Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.
He prayed for the departed souls and wished strength and patience for the victims’ families.
Moreover, he directed the authorities to ensure swift access to all workers trapped inside the mine.
Rescue and Medical Care Ordered
The president instructed officials to provide the injured with the best possible medical treatment.
He said mine workers make an invaluable contribution to Pakistan’s development.
He also stressed that protecting workers’ lives and property remains a shared responsibility of the state.
Furthermore, President Zardari called for the strict enforcement of coal mine safety regulations to help prevent similar tragedies.
Prime Minister Orders Continued Rescue Operations
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed profound grief over the loss of lives.
He said a buildup of gas inside the coal mine caused the tragic accident.
The prime minister directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and other relevant departments to continue rescue operations efficiently and without delay.
He also instructed officials to ensure prompt medical treatment for all injured workers.
Call for Permanent Safety Measures
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the authorities to continue rescue efforts until every affected worker receives relief and assistance.
In addition, he called for permanent safety measures to better protect coal mine workers across the country.
The prime minister also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the departed souls to attain the highest ranks in the hereafter.
