Global Leaders Welcome US-Iran Agreement and Praise Pakistan’s Mediation Role

US-Iran Agreement Receives Broad International Support

The US-Iran Agreement has received widespread support from global leaders after the United States and Iran agreed to a framework aimed at ending years of conflict. The understanding reportedly includes an end to the US blockade of Iran and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.

The development has drawn international attention because the US-Iran Agreement could reduce regional tensions and improve global economic stability. Furthermore, several world leaders acknowledged the role played by mediating countries, with Pakistan receiving notable recognition for its diplomatic efforts.

António Guterres Welcomes Agreement

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres described the accord as a major step toward ending the conflict. According to his statement, the agreement includes an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and a framework for future negotiations.

He also thanked Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye for their constructive role in facilitating dialogue. Moreover, he expressed hope that the agreement would contribute to long-term regional stability.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Praises Pakistan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed the development and described it as an important step for peace in the Middle East.

In a statement shared on social media, Erdoğan reportedly expressed special appreciation for Pakistan’s mediation efforts. He also acknowledged the support provided by Qatar and Saudi Arabia during the diplomatic process.

His remarks reflected a broader international view that regional cooperation played an important role in advancing negotiations.

Keir Starmer and Macron Support Deal

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the agreement as a significant diplomatic achievement. He congratulated US President Donald Trump and recognized the contribution of mediators from Pakistan, Qatar, and other countries involved in the process.

French President Emmanuel Macron also welcomed the framework and called for its swift implementation. Additionally, he stressed the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz and said France and the United Kingdom remain prepared to support international efforts aimed at ensuring maritime security.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum toward a lasting settlement.

Qatar and Germany Highlight Economic Benefits

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani expressed gratitude to Pakistan and other participating states for helping create favorable conditions for dialogue.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the agreement could support economic recovery and contribute to a more secure Middle East. He added that determined implementation would be essential for achieving lasting results.

Their comments highlighted expectations that reduced tensions could benefit international trade and energy markets.

Japan and New Zealand Back Diplomacy

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi welcomed the agreement and expressed hope for the safe and uninterrupted movement of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

She also emphasized the importance of reaching a final understanding regarding Iran’s nuclear programme. Furthermore, she acknowledged the efforts of countries involved in mediation.
