Unverified social media screenshots and box office performance of Ram Charan film Peddy fuel online controversy and criticism.
MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has come under online discussion after a purported social media chat allegedly linked to her went viral, reigniting debate around the film Peddy and its controversial scenes.
According to Indian media reports, the film Peddy, featuring South Indian superstar Ram Charan in the lead role, has faced renewed scrutiny following its release, with some viewers raising concerns over certain scenes and character portrayal.
The controversy intensified after screenshots of an alleged chat attributed to Janhvi Kapoor circulated widely on social media. However, neither the actress nor the film’s production team has verified the authenticity of these messages.
The alleged chat suggests that the actress expressed discomfort over specific scenes during filming and reportedly requested the production team to avoid certain camera angles and framing choices while depicting her character. The messages have also led to speculation that she set clear boundaries during the shoot.
Some claims further suggest that Ram Charan supported her concerns during filming and reportedly intervened in certain sequences at her request. These claims, however, remain unconfirmed.
Meanwhile, the film’s box office performance has also become part of the discussion. Reports indicate that Peddy earned approximately ₹8.90 crore in its first four days, which industry observers describe as a disappointing start.
As discussions continue online, the film remains under scrutiny both for its content and its commercial performance, while no official statements have addressed the viral claims.
