2nd Pakistan International Date Palm Festival Opens in Karachi

Karachi: The 2nd Pakistan International Date Palm Festival began today at the Expo Center, Karachi, kicking off a three-day celebration of Pakistan’s thriving date palm industry. The festival will run until September 18, 2025, uniting farmers, researchers, investors, and global delegates to promote innovation, trade, and sustainable cultivation.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Abdelouahhab Alboukhari Zaid, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award; Dr. Helal Humaid Saeed Al Kaabi, Member of the Board of Trustees; Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, Consul General of the UAE; and Mr. Saeed Ghani, Senior Minister of Sindh, who served as Chief Guest.

Highlighting the significance of dates as one of Pakistan’s key agricultural products, speakers stressed the need for modern cultivation methods, value-added product development, and enhanced export competitiveness.

The festival features exhibitions, technical sessions, B2B networking, and cultural showcases, offering a vital platform to connect local producers with international buyers and technology providers.

Serving as a symbol of collaboration between Pakistan and global partners, particularly the UAE, the Pakistan International Date Palm Festival underscores the shared commitment to advancing agricultural sustainability and strengthening the country’s export potential.
