US-Iran Conflict intensified after the United States carried out a seventh consecutive night of military strikes against Iran under President Donald Trump’s orders. Meanwhile, Iran launched retaliatory attacks targeting US allies in the Gulf.

The US Central Command said American forces used fighter aircraft, aerial drones, warships and other military assets during the operation.

According to the US military, the strikes targeted surveillance sites, military logistics facilities, underground weapons storage locations and maritime capabilities.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported that US attacks struck at least five bridges in southern Iran on Friday. Officials also reported casualties following the attacks.

Authorities said seven people died after strikes hit bridges in the southern port city of Bandar Khamir. In addition, the attacks damaged the city’s railway station.

Elsewhere, reports said an airport in Iranshahr, near Iran’s border with Pakistan, also came under attack.

Iran responded by targeting US allies in the Gulf. As a result, Kuwaiti authorities reported that an Iranian strike hit one of the country’s power generation and water desalination facilities.

Earlier this week, President Trump warned that the United States could target Iran’s energy infrastructure. He also threatened to strike bridges in the coming days.

However, international humanitarian law prohibits attacks on infrastructure considered essential for civilians under the 1949 Geneva Conventions. Legal experts have previously warned that deliberate attacks on such sites could violate international law.

The conflict began after the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran on February 28. Since then, Iran has responded with attacks on Israel and Gulf states that host US military bases.

Furthermore, the conflict has killed thousands of people, displaced millions and increased instability across the region.

Finally, the fighting has pushed oil prices higher and added pressure to global financial markets.
