Karachi: UAE Consul General Bakhit Atiq Al-Rumiti hosted a special Iftar dinner at his residence in honor of Special Olympics athletes. He warmly welcomed the athletes, who presented him with flowers as a gesture of appreciation.

The event aimed to encourage and support the athletes. Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Al-Rumiti emphasized that Pakistani athletes in the Special Olympics are second to none. He noted that with a little effort, their confidence and morale can be significantly boosted. He highlighted the importance of inclusion, stating that individuals with special needs are an integral part of society.

“Despite facing mental or physical challenges, these athletes possess remarkable skills and potential. They only need encouragement to excel,” he added.

The attendees expressed gratitude to the Consul General for his hospitality. The event was also attended by Special Olympics Chairperson Ronak Lakhani and other officials.

Meanwhile, the UAE Consulate and residence have been adorned with decorative lights in celebration of Ramadan.

In his message, Consul General Al-Rumiti stated that Ramadan and Arab culture further strengthen the bond of love and relations between the two brotherly nations.
