Karachi: The Royal Thai Consulate General in Karachi hosted a reception to mark Thailand’s National Day, the Birthday Anniversary of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, and Thailand’s Father Day. The event took place on December 5, 2024, at the Avari Hotel, Karachi.
The reception was presided over by His Excellency Surashete Boontinand, Consul General of Thailand. Mr. Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Minister of Culture, and other dignitaries also attended.
The Consul General delivered remarks highlighting the event’s significance and the strong ties between Thailand and Pakistan. He invited guests to celebrate Thai National Day. He shared his experience working at the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad, expressing joy at his new role in Karachi and describing Pakistan as his second home.
He recalled the sorrow he felt upon learning of King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s passing, which brought him to tears. He also spoke about the king’s dedication to the welfare of his people, explaining why he was loved and respected by the Thai people.
