Ten-Man England Reach World Cup Quarter-Finals After 3-2 Win

Jude Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane added a penalty as England overcame a second-half red card to eliminate co-host Mexico at the Azteca Stadium.

England vs Mexico ended with England securing a dramatic 3-2 victory to reach the World Cup quarter-finals for the third consecutive tournament.

Jude Bellingham scored twice, while Harry Kane converted a penalty for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Despite playing with 10 men for more than 35 minutes, England held off a late Mexico comeback.

As a result, England will face Norway in the quarter-finals after Norway defeated Brazil earlier on Sunday.

Mexico started strongly with vocal home support at the Azteca Stadium.

However, England absorbed the early pressure.

Jordan Pickford produced an outstanding save to deny Raul Jimenez in the opening stages.

Bellingham gives England control

Bellingham opened the scoring with a diving header from Bukayo Saka’s cross.

Moments later, he doubled England’s lead after Harry Kane set him up.

However, Julian Quinones reduced the deficit before half-time and revived Mexico’s hopes.

Red card changes the game

England suffered a setback early in the second half.

The referee sent off Jarell Quansah after a VAR review for a dangerous challenge on Jesus Gallardo.

Nevertheless, England responded positively.

Anthony Gordon won a penalty after goalkeeper Raul Rangel fouled him.

Kane calmly converted the spot-kick to restore England’s two-goal advantage.

Mexico fight back

Mexico earned a penalty after another VAR review.

Raul Jimenez scored from the spot to make it 3-2.

Afterwards, Mexico dominated possession and pushed for an equaliser.

However, England defended resolutely and protected their lead until the final whistle.

Speaking after the match, Kane described the contest as “a crazy game” and praised England’s determination.

Meanwhile, Mexico coach Javier Aguirre said his team paid the price for costly mistakes despite a strong performance.
