Paris: Tara Uzra Dawood, President of Dawood Global Foundation, represented Pakistan at the prestigious UNESCO Olymp’Arts 30th Anniversary Celebration held at the UNESCO House in Paris. Alongside acclaimed Pakistani artist Jamal Shah, she signed the Olymp’Arts Charter on behalf of the nation.
Marc Verriere, President of the World Olymp’Arts Council (WOAC), expressed his appreciation, stating, “We are deeply honoured and happy to have Tara represent Pakistan and be with us in Paris for this special occasion.”
Echoing the sentiment, WOAC Communications Director Alexa Parr said, “We’re deeply honoured by our dear friend Tara from Pakistan gracing this historical occasion and signing the charter, to help resurrect the antique tradition of the Olymp’Arts by 2027.”
Rooted in the spirit of the Eternal Olympics of Ancient Greece (566 B.C.), Olymp’Arts promotes global unity through artistic expression, aiming to make art a powerful medium of peace and cultural harmony. Delegates from 70 countries signed the charter, reaffirming their commitment to the first modern Art Olympiads set for 2027.
This milestone event highlights the role of cultural diplomacy and reinforces Pakistan’s active participation in international efforts to use art as a bridge across global communities.
