Taliban Propaganda Pakistan Rejects Afghan Claims Over Badakhshan Clashes

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected an anti-Pakistan statement by Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, calling it misleading, fabricated and without basis.

In a fact-check, the ministry said Mujahid made the claim during an interview with Afghan media outlet Aamaj News. He alleged that the Pakistan Army had also taken part in armed clashes in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province.

The ministry rejected the allegation and said available independent reports show that the clashes stem from an internal armed struggle against the Afghan Taliban regime.

It said the violence in Badakhshan reflects Afghanistan’s internal security and governance challenges rather than Pakistani involvement.

The ministry reiterated that Pakistan supports a peaceful and stable Afghanistan. It said Islamabad has no interest in destabilising its neighbouring country.

According to the ministry, the Taliban should address Afghanistan’s growing internal problems instead of making allegations against Pakistan.

It further accused the Afghan Taliban regime of using anti-Pakistan propaganda to divert attention from its declining influence and growing resistance to its rule.

The ministry said the Taliban were attempting to give an external dimension to armed clashes inside Afghanistan by making what it described as baseless and fabricated allegations.
