Swat Operation Elite Force Constable Martyred During Anti-Terror Raid

Swat Operation continued on Wednesday after an Elite Force constable was martyred during a joint anti-terror raid in the Shalkho Sar area of Kabal tehsil, police said.

Swat Police spokesperson Nasir Iqbal Karimi said Constable Gulfam embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists during the overnight operation on Tuesday.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Swat Police and Upper Swat Police are conducting the operation. The Regional Police Officer Malakand and the district police officers of Swat and Upper Swat are supervising the mission.

Security forces surrounded the area and trapped the militants inside Shalkho Sar. Police said the terrorists suffered heavy casualties but did not release an official figure.

Swat District Police Officer Umar Khan said security forces remain determined to protect the region. He said they will not allow militants to threaten public safety or disrupt peace.

Umar Khan also praised the sacrifices of police personnel. He said the force will continue operations until it eliminates terrorist threats from the area.

The operation follows reports of militant activity in the Kabal and Matta tehsils. Security forces continue targeted actions as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faces ongoing security challenges.
