SSUET Hajj balloting concluded on Wednesday as Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) selected two employees to perform Hajj at the university’s expense.
The draw named Assistant Professor Dr. Fouzia Sheeraz from the Department of Business Studies and Security Guard Faqir Muhammad as the successful candidates. The university also selected Senior Office Executive Humera Habib and Assistant Professor Engr. Syed Haris Mahboob from the Software Engineering Department as standby candidates.

Speaking on the occasion, Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan congratulated the selected employees and said the university ensures a fair and transparent process that gives every staff member an equal opportunity to perform Hajj, regardless of their position or background. He described Hajj as one of the fundamental pillars of Islam and a cherished aspiration for Muslims.
Registrar Commodore (Retired) Syed Sarfraz Ali said Hajj is more than a religious journey, describing it as a life-changing experience that promotes peace, humility and a stronger spiritual connection with Allah.
The university organises the annual balloting as part of its staff welfare initiatives, enabling selected employees to undertake the pilgrimage through university sponsorship.
