Karachi: Sindh’s Minister for Planning and Development, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has announced that the provincial government will prioritize funding for all ongoing development schemes in the 2025-26 fiscal year. He made the statement while chairing a high-level review meeting at the Planning and Development Committee Room of the Sindh Secretariat.

The meeting was convened to evaluate proposed development projects submitted by various provincial departments. Chairman Planning and Development Board, Najam Ahmed Shah, along with ministers and secretaries from key departments including Local Government, Housing and Town Planning, Works and Services, Irrigation, Public Health Engineering, Health, Transport and Mass Transit, Education, STEVTA, and Home Department, were in attendance.

Syed Nasir Shah directed that development schemes for the upcoming budget must align with the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the guidelines provided by the Sindh Chief Minister. He stressed that only essential new schemes serving the public interest should be considered.

He emphasized that incomplete or abandoned projects damage the government’s credibility and create serious public inconvenience, especially by disrupting traffic flow. Strict instructions have been issued by Bilawal Bhutto to complete all ongoing projects before taking on new ones.

The session also included detailed discussions on major infrastructure and service-related projects proposed by different departments.
