KARACHI: Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Naveed Anthony, along with UC Chairman Farhan Ghani, inaugurated the Ghulamullah Ansari Dojo, headquarters of Kyokushin Karate, in Zamzama, Defence Housing Society, Karachi, during a ceremony held on Sunday, May 3.
The guests were welcomed with bouquets by Association President Saleem Ahmed Siddiqui, Zafar Durrani, and Ghulamullah Ansari. The event formally began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
During the ceremony, Ejaz Khan briefed participants on the aims and objectives of the Pakistan Kyokushin Senior Masters Association. He explained that the association was established to unite karate dojos operating under the guidance and vision of the late Inamullah Khan, who is regarded as the pioneer of Kyokushin Karate in Pakistan.
He stated that the association aims to provide a common platform for students, instructors, and clubs affiliated with Shihan Inamullah Khan, while also organizing national-level events and supporting karate practitioners internationally.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulamullah Ansari thanked distinguished guests who had traveled from across Pakistan to attend the event, including representatives from Lahore, Islamabad, Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Sanghar. Several notable sports and community personalities from Karachi also participated in the ceremony.
The event featured a live karate demonstration showcasing Kyokushin techniques and breaking performances led by Senior Master Muhammad Tariq Siddiqui and his team. A kata performance by Ashna Intikhab received special appreciation from the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Speaker Naveed Anthony praised the efforts of the association and described the initiative as a positive step for promoting martial arts and youth development in Pakistan. He assured organizers of his continued support for future activities.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative shields were presented to distinguished guests by the association’s leadership in recognition of their participation and support.
