KARACHI: Chairman of the International Lawyers Forum (ILF), Nasir Ahmed, said women have played a significant role in Pakistan’s journey from the independence movement to the country’s development and progress in modern times.
He expressed these views while addressing a Labour Day award distribution ceremony organized by the International Lawyers Forum in Karachi, where 25 hardworking women from various professions were honored with special awards in recognition of their contributions to society.
Nasir Ahmed Advocate stated that women today are actively serving in every sector of the country and contributing to national progress through dedication and professional excellence. He added that hardworking women are a source of pride for the nation.
He also assured participants that the International Lawyers Forum would continue supporting working women facing legal or professional challenges and would stand beside them to help address their issues.
The awards were presented to women representing diverse professions and social sectors, including healthcare, education, law, social work, business, administration, and community services.
Among those honored were polio workers, nurses, advocates, architects, beauticians, businesswomen, student leaders, school administrators, social workers, and representatives of welfare organizations.
The ceremony was attended by lawyers, civil society members, social activists, and representatives of minority communities, reflecting broad participation from different segments of society.
The event was hosted by Sumble Bhatti, while participants appreciated the initiative for recognizing the achievements and services of working women across multiple fields.
Organizers stated that the ceremony aimed to acknowledge the dedication of women contributing to social welfare, education, healthcare, and community development while promoting gender inclusion and empowerment in Pakistan.
