Jeddah: Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification under the newly introduced Risk-Based IOSA (RBI) framework, reaffirming its position among the world’s safest and most reliable airlines.
The achievement marks Saudia’s 11th consecutive IOSA registration, highlighting its strong track record in operational safety, quality, and performance. The latest audit represents a major step forward as it was the airline’s first conducted under the RBI framework—a more advanced, data-driven model that tailors safety assessments to each airline’s specific risk profile.
The IOSA program, administered by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), is globally recognized as the industry benchmark for evaluating airlines’ operational management and control systems. The RBI version introduces a more predictive and targeted approach, using performance data and risk analytics to strengthen oversight and enhance aviation safety.
This year’s audit evaluated eight key operational areas, including Organization Management, Aviation Security, Flight Operations, Flight Dispatch, In-Flight Services, Maintenance, Ground Handling, and Cargo Operations.
