Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Meets Belarus President To
Strengthen Bilateral Relations, Focusing On
Economic, Industrial, Agricultural Cooperation

Minsk: During an official visit to Minsk from August 19-22, 2024, His Excellency Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, met with His Excellency Mr. Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus. The high-level meeting was attended by key officials, including the Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus, the Foreign Minister of Belarus, and the Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus.
Expanding Bilateral Relations
President Lukashenko warmly welcomed the Pakistani delegation and reflected on his recent meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister in Astana. He expressed Belarus’s commitment to expanding multifaceted bilateral relations, particularly in economic cooperation, agriculture, industry, and educational and cultural exchanges.
Boosting Economic and Industrial Collaboration
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s leadership and emphasized the potential for strengthening cooperation. He highlighted the importance of locally manufacturing Belarusian agricultural machinery, including tractors, in Pakistan to meet the growing market demands. The Speaker also expressed interest in learning from Belarus’s expertise in industrial development and agricultural innovation, proposing collaboration in research.
Facilitating People-to-People Contact
The Speaker underscored the need to streamline the visa process for Pakistani students and businessmen to facilitate easier travel and exchanges between the two countries. This initiative aims to strengthen people-to-people contact, which is vital for deepening bilateral ties.
Enhancing Agricultural Cooperation
The meeting focused on enhancing agricultural cooperation, with Pakistan expressing interest in importing high-quality Belarusian agricultural machinery, known for its efficiency and reliability. President Lukashenko proposed establishing multi-brand centers in Pakistan for the sale and maintenance of Belarusian machinery, with the possibility of joint production facilities. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that such initiatives would significantly boost Pakistan’s industrial sector and improve bilateral trade.
Commitment to Continued Cooperation
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Belarus relations, recognizing the historical and cultural connections between the two nations. They expressed a mutual desire to build on this foundation and continue dialogue and cooperation, including collaboration in multilateral forums.
