Sania Mirza backs NEET protest, calls for education reforms

Former tennis star Sania Mirza has expressed support for students protesting over the alleged 2026 NEET paper leak. She urged authorities to introduce meaningful reforms and restore confidence in India’s education system.

Sharing a message on Instagram, Sania described students as “the future of our country.” She said her heart goes out to those who spent years preparing for competitive exams such as NEET but now face uncertainty.

Furthermore, she said students deserve to have their voices heard. She also urged the authorities to address their concerns and implement reforms that rebuild trust in the examination system.

“There is no place for violence in our society and we must all work together to find an amicable solution that secures the future of our youth,” she wrote.

Celebrity support continues to grow

Meanwhile, Sania’s statement adds to the growing list of public figures backing the student movement.

Actors Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem and Rachit Singh joined protesters at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Similarly, Imran Khan marched alongside students in Mumbai.

In addition, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Bhumi Pednekar, Diljit Dosanjh, Vishal Dadlani, Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj and Naseeruddin Shah have also voiced support.

Many of them criticised the reported police crackdown. They also called on authorities to ensure accountability and introduce lasting reforms in the education system.
