Salman Khan: Actor in talks for two-part period action film with Excel Entertainment

Reports suggest the Bollywood star may join hands with Farhan Akhtar’s production house for a big-budget historical drama directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra

Salman Khan is reportedly in talks to star in a large-scale historical action film backed by Excel Entertainment. If the deal goes through, it will mark his first collaboration with the production house led by Farhan Akhtar.

Industry reports say the film will feature a grand scale and may release in two parts. Salman has held several meetings with the producers, but he has not signed the project yet. The two sides are still discussing his fee, shooting schedule and other production details.

Reports also suggest that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra may direct the film. He directed acclaimed movies including Rang De Basanti, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Delhi-6.

Sources claim Salman likes the script and the lead role. He may portray one of India’s most celebrated historical figures. The character will likely require a major physical transformation, which has increased fans’ excitement.

The actor is expected to begin filming in the summer of 2027. Before that, he plans to complete a superhero comedy with filmmaking duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K..

Meanwhile, social media recently circulated rumours about Salman Khan’s health. Some posts claimed his family wanted him to seek treatment in the United States. However, Salman and his team have not confirmed those reports, so they remain unverified.

Salman also has several other projects in development. These reportedly include Maatrubhumi with Apoorva Lakhia, SVC63 with Vamshi Paidipally, and the upcoming superhero comedy with Raj and DK.

Fans are now waiting for an official announcement about the historical action film and Salman Khan’s next major release.
