The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been offered a stay at a royal residence during their upcoming Sussex visit to the United Kingdom, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare to travel with their children next month.
The couple are expected to bring Archie and Lilibet for what will be their first family visit to the UK in four years. They have been invited to stay on a royal estate, although they have not yet confirmed whether they will accept the offer.
Officials have not disclosed which residence has been made available. Previous visits saw Prince Harry decline accommodation at Buckingham Palace due to security concerns linked to its prominent location.
Prince Harry is also scheduled to attend several events in the UK marking one year until the Invictus Games in Birmingham, an international sporting event for injured military personnel.
The last in-person meeting between King Charles and his grandchildren took place during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. A later meeting between King Charles and Prince Harry occurred at Clarence House in September last year, marking their first face-to-face contact since early 2024.
Security arrangements for the visit remain unclear. Buckingham Palace has stated it is not providing additional security, and any decision regarding protection will be handled by the Home Office.
The Palace has also declined to comment on whether a meeting between the King and the Sussex family will take place, describing it as a private family matter.
