RCK New Central embarks on its first project to promote tourism in Sindh

Karachi: RCKNC’s Tourism and Community Growth Committee in collaboration with Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC), organized a city tour of Karachi for grade nine and ten students of Al Furqan School, PECHS branch. The sightseeing destinations included Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum, the National Museum of Pakistan, the Sindh Archives, and Mohatta Palace.

It was a day full of learning and discovery, where the students not only enjoyed sightseeing but also gained valuable insights into the rich history and heritage of our city.
The visits included a tree-plantation drive at the Sindh Archives, which had to be converted into a tree-donation drive, as intermittent rain made it difficult to carry out the plantation. However, 50 saplings were donated to the Department and presented to the Director Sindh Archives, Mehdi Shah by the senior Rotarians present on the occasion, including IPDG Hanif Khan, District Chair Endowment Fund Durdana Arshad, District Learning Facilitator Kishwar Allahwalla, IPP and Tourism Committee Chair Shanaz Ramzi, Club Treasurer Almas Tariq and club member Faryal Asif, for plantation in the gardens of the Department.

The visit culminated at Mohatta Palace where MD Tourism Feyaz Ali Shah was also present. He was presented a plaque by Al Furqan Welfare organization’s Founder and President Feryal Asif.

It may be noted that last month an MOU was signed between STDC and Rotary Club of Karachi New Central to promote tourism in Sindh, particularly among the new generation so that they learn to value their heritage and history and develop a sense of ownership. This visit was the first of a series planned by the club to take this mission forward.
