PSX extended its winning streak on Tuesday as the Pakistan Stock Exchange maintained positive momentum after a strong rebound in the previous trading session.
US Dollar Holds One-Month High Ahead of Federal Reserve Rate Decision
The benchmark KSE-100 Index climbed 334.22 points, or 0.19%, to 178,596.55 points during trading. The index touched an intraday high of 179,123.00 points and a low of 177,914.38 points.
Meanwhile, investors traded 67.64 million shares, while the total traded value reached Rs4.73 billion.
Strong Recovery Boosts Market Confidence
On Monday, the KSE-100 Index surged 7,241.13 points, or 4.23%, to close at 178,262.34 points, compared with the previous close of 171,021.20 points.
Broad-based buying across key sectors drove the rally. As a result, investor confidence improved significantly.
Trading Activity Remains Strong
Trading activity also increased sharply in the ready market. Investors traded 1.032 billion shares worth Rs41.020 billion, compared with 579.945 million shares valued at Rs23.896 billion in the previous session.
At the same time, the market capitalisation rose to Rs20.021 trillion from Rs19.278 trillion, reflecting the strong recovery in share prices.
Most Companies End Higher
Out of 496 listed companies traded in the ready market, 409 companies posted gains. Meanwhile, 63 companies recorded losses, while 24 companies closed unchanged.
The broad participation across sectors highlighted continued buying interest and strengthened the market’s positive outlook.
