Project Green Horizon: Hope Bridge launches one-million-tree campaign in Karachi

Project Green Horizon officially began in Karachi after the Hope Bridge Welfare Organization launched its flagship one-million-tree plantation campaign with a large-scale tree plantation drive at KIET University’s Ahsanabad Campus.

The initiative aims to plant one million trees across Karachi to reduce urban heat, tackle climate change and create a healthier environment for future generations.

The plantation drive brought together elected representatives, law enforcement officials, environmental advocates, youth organizations and volunteers to support the city’s green development goals.

Leaders reaffirm commitment to environmental protection

Hope Bridge Welfare Organization is leading the campaign under the leadership of President Nazneen Sohail, Vice President Naureen Abbas, Secretary Ali Zain, Joint Secretary Mobeen Yousuf Zai, Finance Secretary Zaeem Sohail, and the organization’s executive members.

The event featured MPA Ali Ahmed Jan as the chief guest, while MPA Shariq Jamal and Muhammad Ishaq Malik, DSR Pakistan Rangers Sindh, attended as guests of honour.

Community partnerships strengthen campaign

The organization credited several partners for supporting the plantation drive.

These included the Arsh-e-Kousar Foundation, Community Policing Karachi (CPK), the Rotaract Club of Karachi Sunrise, Rotary International District 3271, and KIET University Ahsanabad, which hosted the event.

One-million-tree vision for Karachi

Hope Bridge Welfare Organization said Project Green Horizon is a long-term environmental initiative designed to restore Karachi’s urban forest and encourage civic participation.

The organization plans to work with educational institutions, community organizations, law enforcement agencies and youth groups to expand tree plantation efforts across the city and promote environmental sustainability.
