Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari received the outgoing Ambassador of Austria to Pakistan, Mrs. Andrea Wicke, for a farewell meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr, during which he lauded her efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation during her tenure. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was also present at the meeting.
President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its relationship with Austria, emphasizing the need to further enhance trade and economic ties for mutual benefit. He highlighted the untapped potential of Pakistan’s tourism sector and invited Austrian investment, particularly in alpine tourism, where Austria holds significant expertise.
The President also pointed to Pakistan’s growing pool of skilled IT professionals, suggesting that Austrian companies could explore outsourcing and partnership opportunities in the country’s expanding tech sector.
President Zardari congratulated Ambassador Wicke on the successful completion of her diplomatic assignment and extended his best wishes for her future endeavors.
