PMD Forecasts Rain, Dust Storms in Karachi and Across Pakistan June 16–20

The PMD weather alert has warned of light rain and dust storms in Karachi from June 16 to 20. The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that changing weather patterns will affect multiple regions across the country during this period.

Moreover, moist currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to enter upper and central Pakistan, triggering widespread weather activity. This system is likely to bring thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated heavy rainfall in several provinces.

PMD Weather Alert for Karachi Rain

The PMD weather alert indicates that Karachi and nearby areas may experience dust storms along with light rain. The forecast period is expected to begin from June 16 and continue until June 20.

Furthermore, the Met Office explained that humidity from the Arabian Sea will play a key role in developing unstable weather conditions. As a result, sudden changes in wind patterns and visibility issues may occur in coastal regions.

Residents in Karachi are advised to stay updated as weather conditions may shift rapidly during the forecast window.

PMD Weather Alert Across Punjab Cities

The PMD weather alert also covers major cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Rawalpindi. These areas are likely to experience dust storms, strong winds, thunderstorms, and possible hailstorms.

In addition, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum may receive heavy rainfall at intervals. The combination of wind and rain could lead to temporary disruptions in daily activities.

Moreover, urban flooding risks have been highlighted for low-lying areas during intense rainfall spells.

PMD Weather Alert for KP and Kashmir

According to the PMD weather alert, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms.

Furthermore, isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms may occur in upper mountainous regions. Authorities have warned of potential landslides in vulnerable areas of KP, GB, and Kashmir.

As a result, travelers and tourists are advised to exercise caution, especially in hilly routes during unstable weather conditions.

PMD Weather Alert in Sindh and Balochistan

The PMD weather alert includes several districts of Sindh such as Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, and Dadu. These regions may experience dust storms, gusty winds, and thunderstorms.

In addition, similar weather activity is expected in Balochistan, including Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, and Khuzdar. Strong winds may impact visibility and outdoor movement in affected areas.

Moreover, farmers have been advised to adjust agricultural activities according to the forecast to minimize potential damage.

PMD Weather Alert Safety Advisory

The PMD weather alert also includes safety warnings regarding strong winds, lightning, and hailstorms. Weak structures such as solar panels, billboards, and electricity poles may be at risk of damage.

Furthermore, heavy rainfall could trigger urban flooding in major cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala. Authorities have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.

In conclusion, the PMD has advised farmers, travelers, and residents to stay alert and follow official updates as weather conditions develop across the country.
