Pakistan’s Diplomatic Rise Shapes US-Iran Ceasefire

By Shabana Ayaz

Ankara / Islamabad: In a significant development on the global diplomatic front, Turkish parliamentarian Ali Şahin has lauded Pakistan’s pivotal role in facilitating the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran, describing Islamabad as the “architect of peace” in a highly sensitive geopolitical moment.

In a video message, Şahin emphasized that Pakistan’s emergence as a key mediator reflects its long-standing commitment to peace and stability across regions, particularly in the Gulf, the Middle East, and South Asia. According to international observers, Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy and its credibility among regional actors have enabled it to play a constructive and trusted role in de-escalation efforts.

He noted that the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir has been instrumental in advancing diplomatic engagement. Şahin further highlighted that their positive working relations with former U.S. President Donald Trump contributed to building the necessary trust required for such a breakthrough.

“Pakistan’s consistent stance for peace and its respected position in the Muslim world have been key factors behind this success,” Şahin stated, adding that Islamabad’s goodwill in the Gulf and Middle Eastern countries has translated into tangible diplomatic outcomes.

Analysts believe that this development may mark a turning point in Pakistan’s global diplomatic posture. Many experts suggest that Islamabad is increasingly positioning itself as a potential international hub for conflict resolution, where negotiations and ceasefire agreements could take shape in the future.

Şahin also underscored the importance of collective diplomacy, noting that Pakistan’s coordination with Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt reflects a broader strategic alignment aimed at fostering regional stability and introducing a new security framework in the Middle East, particularly in the Gulf region.

He expressed optimism that the ongoing diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan’s leadership would evolve into lasting peace, not only in the Middle East but globally. Congratulating the government and people of Pakistan, Şahin termed the initiative a “historic step toward sustainable peace.”

The remarks further highlight the deep-rooted and evolving partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye, as both nations continue to collaborate closely on regional and international peace initiatives.

Pakistan Zindabad. Pak–Türkiye friendship forever.
