Karachi/Beijing: In a move to strengthen women-led enterprises and deepen Pakistan–China cooperation, the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi, in collaboration with the Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry Korangi (WCCIK), facilitated a high-level Pakistani delegation’s participation in the Eurasian Women Entrepreneurship Empowerment Project Workshop held in Beijing from September 17 to 30, 2025.
The program, hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized with Beijing Foreign Studies University, gathered women entrepreneurs from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries to promote cross-border partnerships, strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and enhance women’s leadership in business.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Sahibzadi Mahin Khan, Founder President and Patron-in-Chief of WCCIK, and included Shabista Bakhtiar (President, WCCIK), Hibba Tuz Zehra Rizvi (Vice President, WCCIK), Beenish Iftikhar Qadri (Founder President, WCCI Hyderabad), and Dr. Sana Imran (Member, WCCIK).
Over two weeks, participants attended specialized courses on business model innovation, SME governance, and women’s leadership, while also visiting Chinese enterprises and engaging with business leaders to explore future partnerships.
WCCIK leaders expressed gratitude to Yang Yundong, Consul General of China in Karachi, for supporting women’s entrepreneurship initiatives. They also acknowledged MOFCOM, the Academy for International Business Officials, the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, and the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, alongside Associate Professor Gui Bo of BFSU for his guidance during the program.
“This initiative marks a milestone in positioning Pakistani women entrepreneurs on the global stage while reinforcing the friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China,” WCCIK said in a statement.
