Karachi: Pakistani-origin technology entrepreneur Mehwish Salman Ali has been selected as a member of the Forbes Technology Council, marking a significant milestone for Pakistan in the global tech landscape. She is the only female IT expert and the fourth technology professional from Pakistan to join this prestigious think tank.

As a Forbes Technology Council member, Mehwish represents Pakistan at an elite level, influencing C-suite executives and policymakers. Her inclusion underscores the country’s growing expertise in emerging technologies, proving that Pakistan is making a mark on the global stage.
Born and raised in Pakistan, Mehwish later moved to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where she expanded her professional journey. She established Pakistan’s first women-led solar-powered data center, headquartered in Pakistan with offshore offices worldwide. She is also the founder of Data Vault, a company that integrates sustainability, security, and innovation, offering a green, future-ready infrastructure for enterprises.
Advancing AI and Innovation
Beyond infrastructure, Mehwish is spearheading AI innovation by working on agentic and generative AI projects. Her research pushes the boundaries of automation, intelligence, and enterprise security, positioning Pakistan as a leader in AI-driven transformation.

Empowering Women Through SheEarns
Mehwish is also committed to women’s economic empowerment through her initiative, SheEarns. The platform bridges gender and skill gaps, ensuring financial sustainability and inclusion for women. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SheEarns promotes economic independence and equal opportunities.
As a judge, she evaluated 250 women-led startups and provided 100 selected women with free stalls at the SheEarns Expo, offering them a platform to showcase their businesses. The event, attended by USAID representatives, Turkish Crescent, Women Chamber of Commerce Pakistan, politicians, and industry leaders, received widespread recognition in leading publications.
AI Innovation Lab in Karachi
Mehwish recently spoke at the 4th Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) in Jordan, where she announced her plan to establish an AI Innovation Lab in Karachi. This initiative aims to drive cutting-edge AI development and further Pakistan’s technological advancements on a global scale.
