Houston, USA: The Pakistani American Voters Association (PAVA) organized a town hall meeting in Houston, bringing together more than 30 representatives of local organizations to discuss civic engagement and legislative priorities.
The event featured Dr Suleman Lalani, a Texas State Representative, who briefed participants on his legislative work and ongoing efforts. He highlighted how community-driven initiatives and policy advocacy can help Pakistani Americans achieve their shared goals.
PAVA leaders, including Abdur Rauf Khan, Azam Akhter, A. Rehman Patel, Nabila Mansoor, Sattar Qureshi, Shahab Alvi, Sofia Shaikh, and Moiz Abbas, were recognized for their role in mobilizing the community and facilitating dialogue.
Organizers said the town hall was part of PAVA’s broader mission to educate and mobilize Pakistani American voters, strengthen democratic participation, and promote policies that enable communities to thrive.
