The PCB confirmed that opening batter Abdullah Fazal has been ruled out of the ongoing Test series because of injury.
As a result, the board has drafted Abdullah Shafique into the squad as Fazal’s replacement.
Meanwhile, the PCB has also added Saud Shakeel to the squad to provide greater batting depth for the remaining fixtures.
The move strengthens Pakistan’s middle order before a busy Test schedule.
After completing the two-match Test series against the West Indies, Pakistan will travel to England for a three-match Test series.
The England tour will also count towards the ICC World Test Championship standings.
