Pakistan to host ITF Women Futures tournaments in Islamabad in 2026.
women tennis development in Pakistan received a major boost as the Pakistan Tennis Federation announced two ITF W15 Women’s Futures tournaments in Islamabad starting October 5, 2026.

The tournaments will be held in Islamabad and are part of the international ITF Futures circuit. In addition, they will serve as preparation events ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup.

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi said the federation is expanding opportunities for women players in the same way it previously supported men’s tennis.
He emphasized that women tennis players will now have the chance to earn ranking points at home. Furthermore, he said this reduces the need for costly international travel.
The initiative is expected to benefit several emerging players, including Ushna Suhail and Mahin Aftab. Additionally, younger athletes will gain exposure to international-level competition.
