The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend during early trading on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index falling by more than 600 points.
At the beginning of the third trading session of the week, the index dropped over 600 points to reach 168,732 points, reversing part of the strong gains recorded a day earlier.
On Tuesday, the KSE-100 Index had gained 1,421.67 points, or 0.85%, to close at 169,392.33 points compared with 167,970.66 points in the previous session.
Trading activity also declined in the ready market. A total of 372.016 million shares changed hands, compared with 570.472 million shares traded during the previous session. The total traded value fell to Rs17.210 billion from Rs24.672 billion.
Despite the weaker trading session, overall market capitalisation increased to Rs18.857 trillion from Rs18.728 trillion recorded a day earlier.
