Dubai: The Pakistan Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025 was officially inaugurated in Dubai, marking another milestone in Pakistan’s emergence as a rising global technology hub.

The inauguration was led by Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja, joined by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce; Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE; Mr. Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Additional Secretary, Ministry of IT & Telecom, and CEO Ignite; H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai; Brigadier Syed Nadir Hussain Shah from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC); Mr. Abu Bakar, CEO Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB); Mr. Faisal Ratyal, CEO National Information Technology Board (NITB); Mr. Syed Sajjad, Chairman P@SHA; and Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade & Investment Counsellor.

The pavilion, titled “Pakistan’s Tech Destination Pavilion,” serves as a hub for B2B meetings, partnership announcements, investment networking, and start-up showcases. It offers live tech demos, innovation displays, and business matchmaking sessions to foster global collaboration and strengthen Pakistan’s position in international technology trade.

Speaking at the event, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted Pakistan’s growing presence in the global IT landscape:

“Pakistan’s presence at GITEX Global reflects our confidence, our capability, and our commitment to a digitally empowered future under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the vision of Digital Nation Pakistan. With a young, skilled workforce and a rapidly growing IT export base, Pakistan is ready to play a central role in shaping the global tech economy.”

The Ministry of IT & Telecom has facilitated the participation of 10 innovative start-ups at GITEX 2025, providing them with a platform to engage with international investors, showcase their technologies, and attract business development opportunities.

Following Pakistan’s recognition as “Tech Destination of the Year” at GITEX Global 2024, this year’s participation is the largest to date, with 100 leading Pakistani tech companies — including 26 under PSEB and TDAP — and over 1,000 C-level delegates representing the country’s thriving digital sector.

The event drew strong participation from global investors, industry leaders, and international media, reaffirming Pakistan’s growing influence in the global digital economy.
