KARACHI: Pakistan Navy vessels PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook intercepted a suspected fishing boat during a maritime security operation in the Arabian Sea and recovered more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics.
The military’s media wing said the seized drugs were valued at approximately $750 million on the international market.
The operation targeted suspected drug trafficking activity along maritime routes. The Navy said the seizure dealt a significant blow to efforts to transport narcotics by sea.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf praised the crews of PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook for successfully conducting the operation.
The Pakistan Navy said it remains committed to preventing illegal activities at sea and protecting the country’s maritime interests.
