ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Leather Industry took centre stage at the first Pakistan Economic Conference organised by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), where Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) Chairman Dr. Danish Aman represented the sector and highlighted its contribution to the national economy.
The conference brought together senior policymakers, business leaders, economists and industry stakeholders to discuss Pakistan’s economic outlook, industrial growth, export promotion, investment opportunities and strategies for sustainable economic development.

Among the distinguished participants were former Federal Minister Gohar Ejaz, prominent business leader S. M. Tanveer and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, alongside representatives from various industries across the country.
Addressing the conference, Dr. Danish Aman underscored the significant role of Pakistan’s leather industry in strengthening exports and supporting economic growth. He stressed the importance of introducing business-friendly policies, expanding public-private partnerships, encouraging technological innovation and providing greater institutional support to improve the sector’s competitiveness in international markets.
Dr. Aman said stronger coordination between the government and the private sector would help unlock the industry’s full potential and support Pakistan’s long-term economic and industrial development. He expressed optimism that initiatives such as the Pakistan Economic Conference would promote meaningful dialogue and contribute to sustainable policy reforms.
