Pakistan Consulate in Dubai Observes Kashmir Black Day

Special Correspondent

Dubai: The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai observed Kashmir Black Day on Monday to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to highlight their decades-long struggle for the right to self-determination.

The event was attended by members of the Kashmiri and Pakistani communities from Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Kashmir Black Day marks October 27, 1947, when Indian forces illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, defying the will of its people. The day is remembered as a symbol of the Kashmiri people’s resilience and resistance against occupation and their continued demand for freedom in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

Addressing the gathering, Consul General Hussain Muhammad thanked participants for standing with the Kashmiri cause and underscored that the day serves as a reminder of the unresolved status of Jammu and Kashmir and the unfulfilled international commitments to its people.

“The people of IIOJK, especially its youth, have rendered immeasurable sacrifices for freedom and continue to face immense hardships and human rights violations,” he said, reaffirming that Pakistan will continue to extend its moral, diplomatic, and political support to the Kashmiri people until their aspirations are fulfilled.

Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out, reiterating Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to the cause.

A documentary film highlighting the ongoing struggle and suffering of the Kashmiri people was screened, and photo exhibits depicting their courage and sacrifices were also displayed.

Representatives from the Kashmiri community thanked the Government and people of Pakistan for their steadfast support and vowed to continue their peaceful struggle for self-determination in line with international law and UN resolutions.
