Pakistan and Algeria to Strengthen Collaboration in IT and Telecommunication

Islamabad: The Ambassador of Algeria to Pakistan, Mr. Brahim Romani, met with the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, on Friday to discuss avenues for collaboration in the IT and telecom sectors.

During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities in startups, cybersecurity, and the broader telecommunication industry. They expressed a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in technology and innovation.

Pakistan-Algeria IT Cooperation

Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized the importance of Pakistan-Algeria relations, particularly in the rapidly evolving IT and telecom fields. She highlighted Pakistan’s readiness to share its expertise, stating, “Algeria can benefit from Pakistan’s experiences in technology.”

She proposed several initiatives to deepen ties, including:

  • Exchange programs for students, startups, and entrepreneurs.
  • IT training programs tailored for Algeria’s youth.
  • Establishing a joint working group for IT and telecommunication collaboration.
  • Organizing a joint seminar featuring tech companies and startups from both countries.

Algeria Seeks Stronger Tech Ties

Ambassador Brahim Romani praised Pakistan’s advancements in IT and telecommunication, expressing Algeria’s interest in expanding partnerships in these fields. He welcomed the proposals and stressed the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Imad Memon, Member International Coordination at the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, who supported the outlined initiatives.

The dialogue sets the stage for further collaboration, positioning Pakistan and Algeria to leverage technology for mutual growth and development.
