Karachi: Reham Khan, former wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has officially stepped into the political arena with the launch of her new party — the Pakistan Republic Party.
At a press conference held at the Karachi Press Club, Reham unveiled her party’s name and logo, calling it the beginning of a “fresh political journey” aimed at addressing public grievances and restoring meaningful representation in legislative bodies.
“The whole of Pakistan is my constituency,” she declared, taking a swipe at the current government’s governance practices. Reham emphasized that her party will focus on legal reforms, particularly those benefitting women, farmers, and marginalized communities.
She described her movement not just as a political project but a national mission to bring back hope, dignity, and genuine public representation. Citing the recent shutter-down strike by traders, Reham questioned the government’s reactive approach: “Why isn’t consultation done beforehand?”
Later, in a social media post, she invited citizens to join her working groups: “Let’s put our heads together and plan our future together. InshAllah.”
Reham Khan was briefly married to Imran Khan in 2014 before the couple divorced in 2015. She later authored a controversial autobiography in 2018 detailing her experience.
