Mir Raza Murder Case Court Grants Investigators More Time to Submit Reports

The case came before Judicial Magistrate East at the City Court, where the investigating officer told the court that investigators needed the victim’s SIM to advance the inquiry.

The court questioned how authorities would obtain the SIM. The investigating officer said they would try to acquire it through the biometric verification and CNIC of Mir Raza’s mother.

The officer also requested more time to submit the medical examination and investigation reports. The court accepted the request and directed authorities to present an update on the investigation and the medical examination report at the next hearing.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has removed Medical Legal Officer Dr Osama, who conducted Mir Raza’s initial postmortem at Jinnah Hospital. Authorities directed him to appear before an inquiry committee over alleged lapses in the medico-legal procedures and discrepancies in the postmortem report.

Officials said the inquiry committee would question Dr Osama about the alleged errors and discrepancies identified during the examination.

In a separate development, investigators have prepared a list of 10 people whom they plan to summon for questioning as part of the murder investigation.

According to investigative sources, Mir Raza had borrowed money from several people on the list. Sources claimed that he had allegedly borrowed more than Rs17.5 million from one individual, while another person had lent him Rs500,000.

The investigation will examine the financial dealings and other relevant circumstances as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s death.
