Karachi: The 18th Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the MBJ School of Nursing at Kharadar General Hospital was held this week, marking a significant milestone for the graduating cohort and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to healthcare education.
The ceremony brought together healthcare professionals, philanthropists and community leaders to celebrate the academic achievements of the nursing students and the hospital’s longstanding contribution to medical services in Karachi.
Chief Guest Highlights Role of Charity and Nursing Profession
Dr. Gauhar Ejaz, former federal minister for commerce, industry and production, attended the ceremony as chief guest. In his address, he praised the hospital’s healthcare services and described the MBJ School of Nursing as a state-of-the-art institution dedicated to professional excellence.
He emphasized that sustainable societal progress begins with improving the lives of ordinary citizens and underscored the importance of charity, Zakat and social responsibility. He acknowledged the contribution of non-governmental organisations and philanthropists in strengthening Pakistan’s education and healthcare sectors.
Dr. Ejaz also highlighted the rising global demand for trained nursing professionals, calling nursing a noble and dignified profession that plays a transformative role in improving lives across the world.
