Karachi: Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College (LNH&MC) successfully hosted a Career Fair for medical students, graduates, and postgraduate trainee doctors, aimed at exploring diverse career opportunities within the healthcare sector.
The event addressed the growing importance of career planning amid the emergence of new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, as well as the rise of clinical and non-clinical career paths. A pre-event webinar was also organized, offering practical tips on crafting personal statements, preparing professional resumes for electives, residency, and job applications, and excelling in medical interviews.
The fair began with a scientific session featuring expert panels from various medical and surgical specialties. Discussions covered career prospects in Pakistan, the UK, Ireland, and the USA. Participants also learned about alternative career paths in pharmaceuticals, research, hospital management, and public health.
An interactive segment followed, where attendees engaged with representatives from both clinical and non-clinical fields through booth visits. Experts from the pharmaceutical and medical insurance industries shared valuable insights into opportunities in their sectors.
The highlight of the event was the virtual “Meet the International Experts” session, where alumni from countries including the UK, USA, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand shared firsthand guidance on pursuing global medical careers.
