KHA, SSU Join Hands to Promote Sports Culture

Karachi: Member of National Assembly and President of the Karachi Hockey Association (KHA), Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, met with Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) to discuss boosting student participation in sports and fostering a healthier campus environment.

The meeting, attended by KHA Senior Vice President Latafat Shah, Congress Member Junaid Aslam, international hockey player Muhammad Ali, and anchor Yahya Hussaini, focused on collaborative efforts to integrate sports more effectively into university life.

Sports as a Tool for Character Building

Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan highlighted the role of sports in shaping leadership, teamwork, and resilience among students.

“Sports are not just about competition; they build character and create a sense of community. Enhancing sports programs can significantly impact students’ academic performance and well-being,” he stated.

SSUET’s Commitment to Fitness

Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan reaffirmed SSUET’s dedication to holistic education, emphasizing the importance of sports and recreational activities.

“Sir Syed University is committed to providing a well-rounded education that includes physical fitness. Our collaboration with KHA will open new avenues for sports development and increase student participation,” he remarked.

Strengthening the Sports Culture

The discussion concluded with a shared commitment to fostering a vibrant sports culture at SSUET. Both Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan and Chancellor Akbar Ali Khan expressed optimism that these initiatives would inspire students to actively engage in sports and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for fitness.
