According to Karak police, officers received credible intelligence about the militants’ presence at around 5 a.m. Consequently, police teams from Karak and Kohat launched a coordinated operation.

The militants opened fire as the police advanced. However, officers responded immediately and engaged them in a fierce gun battle.

The operation ended with police killing four members of the Commander Zahid Group. Police said the group had allegedly murdered several police officers and security personnel in previous attacks.

Meanwhile, security forces cordoned off the area and continued a search operation. Investigators are now verifying the identities of the slain militants and examining their criminal records.

Furthermore, Karak police reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism and maintaining lasting peace across the region. They said security forces will continue intelligence-based operations against militant groups.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the successful operation. He commended the police for acting against what he described as “India-sponsored terrorists.” He also said Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eliminate terrorism across the country.
