Karachi: The third day of IDEAS 2024 in Karachi saw a remarkable series of events, including the dazzling Karachi Show at Nishan-i-Pakistan, Seaview. The event featured thrilling demonstrations by Pakistan’s Army, Navy, and Air Force, showcasing the country’s military prowess and readiness to defend its borders while upholding the values of freedom and democracy.

Advancements in Defence and Self-Reliance

The event also highlighted Pakistan’s growing self-reliance in the defense sector. Indigenous defense products were showcased, meeting international standards and demonstrating the country’s progress in developing advanced defense technologies. The CM encouraged further collaboration on global challenges, such as terrorism, piracy, cybersecurity, and climate change.

Sindh CM Highlights Pakistan’s Growing Global Defence Role

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah addressed the event and highlighted Pakistan’s role as a key player in global defense and diplomacy. He emphasized the importance of IDEAS 2024, noting that the event showcased Pakistan’s military strength, technological advancements, and unwavering commitment to peace and regional stability. The CM also acknowledged the international guests for their participation and expressed gratitude for their support in fostering global collaboration.

At the Karachi Show, special recognition was given to the Pakistan Navy for its impressive display, showcasing the professionalism and dedication of its personnel in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests. CM Murad Shah reaffirmed that Pakistan’s “strength for peace” philosophy guides the nation’s defense strategy, with military capability serving as a deterrent to conflict rather than an instrument of aggression.

Air Chief Visits IDEAS 2024: Focus on Technological Innovation

In a significant move, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu visited the IDEAS 2024 exhibition, underscoring the importance of technological collaboration in strengthening national defense capabilities. The air chief toured the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park pavilion, which highlighted cutting-edge technologies in aerospace, space, artificial intelligence, and electronic warfare. He also stressed the importance of nurturing emerging talent and fostering partnerships to drive innovation in Pakistan’s aerospace sector.

Naval Chief Inaugurates Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park

A landmark moment of the event was the inauguration of the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park (PMSTP) by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. This first-of-its-kind initiative aims to foster growth in Pakistan’s maritime industry, bringing together academia, industry, and government to drive innovation. The park will focus on sectors such as naval technologies, AI, ocean renewable energy, shipbuilding, and coastal tourism. The PMSTP is set to play a transformative role in Pakistan’s blue economy, with plans for expansion to major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, and Gwadar.
