Centrum Air: Airline launches direct Karachi-Tashkent flights from September 3

KARACHI: Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air is expanding its operations to Karachi with exclusive non-stop flights to Tashkent from September 3, 2026, offering passengers a direct connection between the two cities.

The airline announced the new service at a launch ceremony hosted by Gerry’s Group at a local hotel in Karachi. Senior officials from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), Gerry’s Group and Centrum Air attended the event.

Adil Mirza Khalmirzaev, Head of Sales at Centrum Air, said the airline is among Uzbekistan’s fastest-growing carriers. He added that the company focuses on safe, reliable and customer-oriented air travel.

Centrum Air operates a modern fleet and an expanding international network from its hub in Tashkent. According to the airline, its network supports tourism, trade and wider economic cooperation.

The new Karachi service will provide travellers with a direct and time-efficient option for travel between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. It will also give passengers access to onward international connections through Tashkent.

Strengthening Pakistan-Uzbekistan connectivity

Speaking at the ceremony, Arshad Wali Muhammad, Group Director of Gerry’s Group, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership.

He said the cooperation combines the strengths of both organisations, particularly in professionalism, reliability, innovation and customer service.

“Together, we are committed to making both the Lahore and Karachi routes successful and to supporting the continued growth of travel between our two countries,” he said.

Ken Marshall, Chief Operating Officer of the Airline Division at Gerry’s Group, also attended the event and highlighted the partnership’s potential to support regional aviation growth.

Meanwhile, Shahbaz M. Khan, General Manager Marketing at Gerry’s Group’s Airline Division, presented the group’s aviation capabilities and nationwide network.

He also outlined Gerry’s Group’s plans to provide representation and operational support for Centrum Air in Pakistan.

The launch was attended by Luqman Rasheed, Deputy Director General of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, along with senior executives from both organisations.

The event concluded with networking sessions involving travel agencies, corporate partners and aviation industry professionals. Guests also participated in a ceremonial cake cutting, lucky draw and souvenir distribution.

The new route is expected to facilitate travel for business and leisure passengers while strengthening tourism, trade and cultural exchanges between Karachi and Tashkent.
