Japan Consulate Donates 65 Books to NED University

Japan Consulate Donates 65 Books to NED University Under Read Japan Project

Karachi: The Consulate General of Japan in Karachi, in collaboration with the Tokyo Foundation, successfully organized a book handover ceremony at the Main Campus of NED University of Engineering and Technology. The event marked the donation of 65 books under the “READ JAPAN PROJECT,” an initiative aimed at promoting a deeper understanding of Japan’s rich culture, literature, and politics around the world.

Strengthening Academic and Cultural Ties

Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Mr. HATTORI Masaru, officially presented the curated collection to NED University. The books cover a wide range of topics, including Japanese history, philosophy, society, and modern development, offering students and researchers valuable academic resources.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. HATTORI emphasized the significance of academic and cultural exchanges in strengthening Japan-Pakistan relations. He expressed hope that these books would inspire greater interest in Japan among students, researchers, and faculty members.

NED University Expresses Gratitude

Vice Chancellor Dr. Noman Ahmed extended his heartfelt thanks to the Tokyo Foundation for their generous gift of knowledge. He encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity to deepen their understanding of Japan and contribute to stronger future relations between the two countries.

Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Tufail also highlighted that the collection offers insights into Japan’s societal values, development journey, and cultural systems. He expressed optimism that the books would benefit not only current students but future generations as well.

Promoting Mutual Understanding

The Tokyo Foundation’s “READ JAPAN PROJECT” reflects Japan’s commitment to fostering cultural diplomacy and mutual understanding by providing high-quality Japanese books to academic institutions worldwide.

The ceremony concluded with appreciation from NED University representatives, who recognized the donation as a significant contribution to enriching their academic resources and promoting Japanese studies among the student community.
