Karachi: Mr. Danilo Giurdanella, the Consul General of Italy in Karachi, attended the unveiling ceremony of the R24 FPT Engines, a significant milestone in Italian technological innovation in diesel engines. The new series aims to provide innovative solutions to various industries and businesses across Pakistan, helping them reduce their carbon footprint and improve efficiency.

Support for Sustainable Solutions

During the event, Mr. Giurdanella congratulated Power Zone’s management for their efforts in bringing FPT Industrial—a brand synonymous with “Made in Italy” excellence—to Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of introducing innovative and sustainable alternative energy solutions to the country.

Key Representatives at the Event

The launch event was graced by notable figures from FPT Industrial, including Mr. Riccardo Pavani, Head of Asia Pacific Region, Mr. Gianmaria Pece, Head of Marketing, and Mr. Zeeshan Yousuf, Head of Sales for Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Their presence highlighted the commitment of FPT Industrial to expanding its footprint in Pakistan.

Growing Trade Relations Between Pakistan and Italy

Pakistan’s trade relations with Italy have shown remarkable growth in recent years. In 2023, the trade surplus with Italy was recorded at $624.518 million, almost double the $316.995 million achieved in 2022. Overall exports to Italy reached $1151.448 million during this period, up from $1087.434 million the previous year.

Italy ranks first among European countries in terms of the number of machinery and equipment companies. With over 60,000 functional units, Italy is a global leader in machinery and mechatronics. The launch of R24 FPT Engines in Pakistan is a testament to Italy’s continued commitment to fostering technological advancements and trade growth in the region.

FPT Industrial’s Expansion in Pakistan

FPT Industrial, part of the Iveco Group, is one of the largest companies in the powertrain sector. It produces powertrains for on-road, off-road, marine, and power generation applications. The company’s presence in Pakistan is bolstered by CNH Industrial, a subsidiary of the Iveco Group, which has been successfully operating in Pakistan for over two decades.

A Vision for the Future

Mr. Danilo Giurdanella expressed his optimism about FPT Industrial’s long-term presence in Pakistan. He also expressed hope for other companies under the Iveco Group to explore the Pakistani market and capitalize on its true potential. The success of CNH Industrial in promoting mechanization in Pakistan is a testament to the effectiveness of Italian technology in the region.
