Islamabad: The Embassy of Tajikistan in Islamabad recently hosted the “Tajikistan — Pakistan Roadshow” to highlight tourism opportunities between the two countries. The event was attended by Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, officials from the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, representatives from Tajikistan’s travel agencies, and 150 tourism sector professionals from Pakistan.
The roadshow saw participation from nearly seventy travel companies, tour operators, airlines, local media, and representatives from Central Asian diplomatic missions. Notably, Atadjan Movlamov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, also attended the event.
During the event, the Tajik delegation presented the rich tourism potential of Tajikistan. Attendees received informative brochures, catalogs, and memorable gifts showcasing Tajikistan’s tourist attractions.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of ten memorandums of cooperation with Pakistani tourism companies. These agreements include invitations to the Travel Market in Tajikistan, scheduled for late September 2024.
Umedjon Saidzoda, General Director of Somon Travel LLC, expressed optimism about Tajikistan’s tourism future. He highlighted the event as an opportunity for participants to learn about Tajikistan’s diverse tourist attractions and successful international presence.
From August 8 to August 15, representatives from Tajikistan’s travel agencies visited Pakistan for business meetings with various public and private tourism sector entities. These discussions focused on tourism development, joint projects, mutual info tours, and hospitality training.
