Invictus: Prince Harry’s foundation thanks bidding cities as 2029 host decision nears

The Invictus Games Foundation has expressed its gratitude to all bidding cities involved in the selection process for the next edition of the Invictus Games, as Prince Harry’s founded initiative moves closer to announcing the 2029 host city.

The foundation of Prince Harry said it had been “deeply appreciative” of the commitment shown by all three candidate cities, noting that their efforts reflected a shared belief in the transformative impact of the Games. It was also confirmed that final presentations were recently delivered to the Board of Trustees by delegations from each bidding city.

The statement added that all proposals were reviewed as part of a structured process, which included bid submissions, site visits and detailed evaluations. The foundation said the selection procedure had been designed to ensure fairness and to identify the strongest possible host for the next stage of the event’s development.

“We would like to thank all three cities for the ambition, commitment and care they have shown throughout the process, and for their shared belief in the power of the Invictus Games to change lives and save lives,” the statement said.

The Invictus Games, established by Prince Harry, bring together wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans from across the world in a multi-sport competition held every two years in a different host nation. The Invictus Games Foundation oversees the selection process and overall delivery of the event.

The foundation is now expected to review the final submissions before announcing the host city for the 2029 edition. The decision is anticipated after the completion of its internal assessment process.
