of hybrid working in Pakistan, as demand for

high-quality office spaces continues to surge

Staff Reporter

Karachi: International Workplace Group (IWG), the world’s largest provider of hybrid working solutions, is set to open a state-of-the-art flexible workspace in Karachi. This expansion aligns with the growing adoption of hybrid working in Pakistan, as demand for high-quality office spaces continues to surge.

New Regus Location to Open in June 2025

IWG’s latest addition, Regus The Centre, will open in June 2025, covering 1,100 sqm and catering to a diverse range of industries. The facility will offer private offices, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, and creative work areas. IWG’s Design Your Own Office service will enable businesses and professionals to customize their workspaces according to specific needs.

Hybrid Working Gains Momentum in Pakistan

The decision to expand in Karachi comes as IWG experiences record-breaking revenue and growth. In the first half of 2024 alone, the company signed 465 new locations globally. With the shift towards hybrid working accelerating, commercial real estate trends indicate that 30% of all office spaces will be flexible by 2030.

The building owner has partnered with IWG to maximize returns on real estate investment by tapping into the growing demand for hybrid work environments. IWG’s Rs17 billion annual investment into its technology platform ensures top-tier design, fit-out support, and sales and marketing capabilities for partners.

JS Investments Partners with IWG for Karachi Expansion

Iffat Mankani, CEO of JS Investments Limited, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “As Pakistan’s economic hub, Karachi requires innovative and flexible workspace solutions. This collaboration with IWG will support business growth by providing premium office spaces designed for modern professionals.”

JS Investments, managers of the JS Rental REIT Fund, sees this venture as a significant step in meeting the rising demand for adaptable work environments.

IWG’s Global Expansion and Market Impact

IWG is the world’s leading provider of flexible workspaces, operating over 4,000 locations across 120+ countries. Members can access any location through the IWG app, benefiting from a seamless global network.

Mark Dixon, CEO & Founder of IWG, highlighted the company’s strategic expansion into Pakistan: “Karachi is a key business hub, and we are excited to strengthen our presence here. Hybrid working is the future, driving productivity, employee satisfaction, and sustainability.”

He added that businesses adopting flexible work models can save up to Rs3 million per employee, while also reducing their environmental footprint.

The Future of Flexible Workspaces

With 1.2 billion white-collar workers worldwide, the total addressable market for hybrid work solutions exceeds Rs543 trillion. Conventional office occupancy is declining as companies seek cost-effective, scalable, and dynamic workspaces. In 2023, IWG welcomed over 800 new partner locations, with 83% of Fortune 500 companies among its clientele.

As the demand for flexible offices continues to rise, IWG’s multi-brand strategy ensures that businesses of all sizes can leverage hybrid workspaces for greater efficiency, agility, and market reach.
